1.  يوق ھۈنەرى يالغۇز ئىسە بىر كىشى،

قايدا كىشى سانىدە يالغۇز كىشى.

 ئۆزبىكچىسى :

Yo'q hunari yolg'uz esa bir kishi
Qayda kishi sonida yolg'uz kishi

ئىنگىلىزچىسى :

He who stands apart or turns his face
Deserves no place in the human race.

2. ئىلىم، نەۋائىي سەنگە مەقسۇد بىل،

ئەمدىكىم ئىلىم ئولدى، ئەمەل ئەيلەگىل.

 ئۆزبىكچىسى:

Ilm, Navoiy, senga maqsud bil,
Emdikim ilm o'ldi,amal aylaygil.

ئىنگىلىزچىسى :

The the gaining of knowledge hath thy
powers been applied, Navoi;
Having gained it, let knowledge be thy
guide Navoi.

3. چىن سۆز مۆتەبەر، ياخشى سۆز مۇختەسەر،

ئۆزبىكچىسى :

Chin so'z mo'tabar, yaxshi so'z muxtasar.

ئىنگىلىزچىسى :

Good the speech that is graceful and distinct;
Excellent that which is truthful and succinct.

4. ئاز - ئاز ئۆرگەنىپ دانا بولۇر،

قەترە - قەترە يىغىلىپ دەريا بولۇر.

ئۆزبىكچىسى :

Oz-oz o'rganib dono bo'lur,
Qatra-qatra yig'ilib daryo bo'lur.

ئىنگىلىزچىسى :

Learning is knowledge acquired in small portions,
As drops make the rivers that flow to the oceans.

5. چىن سۆزنى يالغانگە چۇلغىما،

چىن ئەيتا ئولۇر تىلنى يالغانگە بۇلغىما.

ئۆزبىكچىسى:

Chin so'zni yolg'onga chulg'ama,
Chin ayta olur tilni yolg'ong'a bulg'ama.

ئىنگىلىزچىسى :

Keep the tongue pure from earliest youth,
Mix not foul lies with immaculate truth.

6. ھەر كىشىكى قىلدى ئادەمزاد،

تەپەككۇر بىرلە بىلدى ئادەمزاد.

ئۆزبىكچىسى:

Har kishiki qildi odamizod,
Tafakkur birla bildi odamizod.

ئىنگىلىزچىسى:

The creations of mankind
Are the fruit of man's mind.

7. ئەگەر نەپدىن بولسە مەھزەن يىراق،

ئەنىڭ لەئىلدىن خارە كۆپ ياخشىراق.

ئۆزبىكچىسى:

Agar naf'din bo'lsa mahzan yiroq,
Aning la'lidin xora ko'p yaxshiroq.

ئىنگىلىزچىسى:

Better the cobble that paves the way
Than a gem locked away from the light of day.

8. ئەگەر تۇزلۇق ئولسە كىشىنى ئېشى،

نە ۋەسىف ئەيلەي ئالگەي ئىشىنى كىشى.

ئۆزبىكچىسى:

Agar tuzlik o'lsa kishining ishi,
Ne vasf aylay olgay ishini kishi.

ئىنگىلىزچىسى:

A man who follows virtue's ways
Hath no need of pay or praise.

9. ئەگەر قىلمەدى ئەل ھىمايەت ساڭا،

ئۆزىڭدىن كېرەكدۇر شىكايەت ساڭا.

ئۆزبىكچىسى:

Agar qilmadi el himoyat sanga,
O'zingdan kerakdir shikoyat sanga.

ئىنگىلىزچىسى:

If, in trouble, none come to thy defence,
Thou art to blame, take no offence.

10. ئەيلەر ئىشىڭگە چۇ بولۇر دەسترەس،

ۋاقتىدىن ئۆتكەرمە ئەنى بىر نەفەس.

ئۆزبىكچىسى:

Aylar ishingga chu bo'lur dastras,
Vaqtidin o'tkarma ani bir nafas.

ئىنگىلىزچىسى:

If thou art equal to the task in hand,
Not for a moment let fulfilment stand.

11. يامان بىلە ياخشى ئارەسىدە پەرىقدۇر،

ئىككى كېمەنىڭ ئۇچىن تۇتگەن غەرىقدۇر.

ئۆزبىكچىسى:

Yomon bila yaxshi orasida farqdir,
Ikki kemaning uchin tutgan g'arqdir.

ئىنگىلىزچىسى:

Evil and rock up and down;
With feet in two boats one is sure to drown.

12. ئىززەت بەرمەس نەقدۇ دىرەم بارلىغى،

كىم بولدى تەمەدىن كىشىنى خارلىغى.

ئۆزبىكچىسى:

Izzat bermas naqdu diram borlig'i,
Kim bo'ldi tama'din kishining xorlig'i.

ئىنگىلىزچىسى:

He who has lowered himself for gain,
Wealth can never raise up again.

13. ئىززەت ھەددىن كەم ئېسە خوب ئەمەس،

ھەددىن ئارتۇق داغى مەرغۇب ئەمەس.

ئۆزبىكچىسى:

Izzati haddin kam esa xo'b emas,
Xaddidin ortuq dag'i marg'ub emas.

ئىنگىلىزچىسى:

Lack of appreciation is painful;
Over-estimation is shameful.

ئىززەت تىلەسەڭ كەم دە،

سىھەت تىلىسەڭ كەم يە.

ئۆزبىكچىسى:

Izzay tilasang kam de,
Sihat tilasang kam ye.

ئىنگىلىزچىسى:

If thou wouldst be honoured, speak less;
If thou wouldst be healthy, eat less.

14. كامال ئەت كەسىبكىم ئالەم ئۆيىدىن،

ساڭا پەرىز ئولمىغاي غەمناك چىقماق.

ئۆزبىكچىسى:

Kamol et kasbkim, olam uyidin.
Senga farz o'lmagay g'amnok chiqmoq.

ئىنگىلىزچىسى:

The only way to decrease one's sufferings
Is to increase one's understanding.

15. مېۋىگە مېغىز ئولسە، بولۇر پوستى ھەم،

كىمسەگە ھەم دۈشمەن ئېرۇر دوسىت ھەم.

ئۆزبىكچىسى:

Mevaga mag'z o'lsa, bo'lur po'st ham,
Kimsaga ham dushman erur do'st ham.

ئىنگىلىزچىسى:

As in fruit pit and marrow grow together,
So in life friend and foe go together.
